Hi all,
A short time ago, Dr. Nase posted some interesting abstracts from laser journals concerning the confocal microscopes' probable utility in aiding IPL tx efficacy.
The abstracts, though very encouraging, were somewhat dated (1999 and 2000, I think), and at least up to that point I don't think the scopes had been used in conjunction with rosacea. So my questions are (to Dr. Nase or anyone else with info pertaining to): Has this technology been since used in experiments with rosacea? And if so, how did it go? If good results, why the hold-up on more mainstream use of this type device?
I guess in other words...what is the delay on so promising a techonology? I mean, it's apparently already out there...so why isn't it being modified/used by the medical communty in addressing rosacea?
I would think that Drs. Darm or Soldo would be all over this....haven't heard anything about it....
As I see it...before even adressing the issue of angio blockers...the question of how to ensure vasculature coagulation has to be addressed, as many (myself included), just don't get visible results from IPL. And the bottom line is, to my knowledge, the IPL txs have to work before the angio blockers can help.
