Howdy,

I had my 4th IPL treatment this afternoon. it seemed rather tender in some areas. The last two treatments I've had the double pulse after the first pass of the light. That's what left me bruised and swollen. Didn't have that this time.

The Dr. came in before the tech got started and I talked with her a bit. She asked if I were still doing the antibiotics. I stopped, because frankly, I hate taking antibiotics, especially when I was on BC. Basically makes you take the chance to have it go null-and-void on you.

She got irritated that I stopped taking it. She said that while I'm doing the IPL I should be taking the minocycline (I think that's it). Then she asked me to get on Metrogel/Cream and another one - Clinadel? I'll check spelling tonight on that one. Can't remember exactly of the top of my head. That those should do well.

BEEN THERE/DONE THAT! I've done antibiotics and metrogel so many times, I could scream! They don't stick! Metrogel and cream dries out my skin. Antibiotics, the day after I quit taking them, I go back to my normal, IF they work. most times they just stop working. I told her all of this, and she asked me to humor her this time.

She said after my last IPL, she wants to see me again, and maybe do low dose accutane, or she said she's had some good cases with using a new Acne treatment called Blue Light. Anyone heard of this working on Rosacea?!

Anyway, I'm red, I'm upset, and I want to crawl under a rock, but I'm at work (where I'm just waiting for Mr. Insensitive that I work with to ask if I'm pregnant again or if I'm sunburned... yes, I've had that asked before). I wanted to cry on my way back to work, but I knew it would cause a flush, so i fought it back.

ugh....

Hi Kelli...I've had 9 laser teatments, and i'm just starting to see the results. I don't take antibiotics, mainly because I've taken them for other health problems(latest h-pylori bacteria), I have taken them for rosacea but found that as soon as I stopped taking them my face seemed worse. I'm not sure what is working for me at the moment as I try so many things..yasmin pill for flushing along with ayruvedic medicines(neem powder, drakshadi, thripala), also skin supplements, pro-biotics. I had severe rosacea and after four laser treatments, I felt that although the results were ok it was nothing to shout about...now I flush less and finally feel as though rosacea is semi-under control. If you can carry on with laser treatments, eventually it will help with the burning, flushing, redness. Good luck karen

HI ( and anyone else reading this )

Hoping that you can share some info with me. Wondering what IPL device was used and if you know the settings. I'll be glad to post mine. I have had 8 and feel that if I am to get further benefits, then the pre-programmed settings will need to be tweaked. Unfortunately, the derm's RN is only programmed to use the pre-selected settings. Up to this point, she has only increased the joules.

Thanks
Linda

I wish I knew... I tried looking yesterday, but I only could hear the Dr. say something about 36. Not sure what that means.

After these 5 that I've paid for, I can't get anymore. Simply can't afford it.
