I have found this so helpful for soothing my flushing. I was using Aloe Vera gel and i suddenly remembered while i was away abroad last year a friend picked some fresh aloe vera and applied it straight to the mild sunburn i had on my back. it elieviated the pain immediately and i went straight to sleep.

A few weeks ago i decided to go to my local large garden centre and buy an Aloe Plant which has been sitting nicely on my windowsil. When teh flushing is horrid i just cut of a part of the leaf, split it open and apply it onto the skin. Really soothing and unless yr partial to being allergic to lots of products it might be worth a go :D

I got severely sunburned many years ago (fell asleep on a pool float). I was sunburned on the front half of my body, with my feet being the worst, because they were actually still in the water.

I got some aloe stalks from my second mom and just lathered myself up in it. I even got some of the bottled stuff and poured it into a coolish bath to just sit and soak. Probably one of my more stupid times of my life. Couldn't even wear shoes!

With that said, yes, Aloe is awesome for burns and burning. Had to use it again a few months ago when I used nicomide-T (I believe was the name) cream and my face flush the most severe it ever has. Lasted almost two days! Aloe relieved alot of the major pain.

Kelli have you tried using it during a flush to help with the pain?
Last night i was covered in the stuff

I guess I'm sort of lucky, in that I don't have severe flushing. I blsuh really bad, but it's more heat with it. I have papulopustular rosace (sp?). Those hurt by themselves, but aloe won't do anything there.

Its the pain that gets me too :( .

Although i don't have the P+Ps i sometimes think if it was just redness on its own with no pain at least i could cover it up. but at the mo its the stinging and tightness thats really winding me up, but i'm back having laser next week, so hopefully it will work again and leave me pain free for a while.

The heat REALLY hurts - like outside heat, i mean. I walked out the other day and it was like a furnace outside. I had to grab my face, because it felt like little needles stuck in it. Hurt SO bad! I had to get into the car and turn on the air full blast on my face while my husband put the groceries into the back of the car.

My husband said that my face didn't get red, but I sure as hell felt it!

I met a lady from Texas two years ago whilst i was on a retreat in France, she was from scotland originally but ended up in America by some strange turn of events. Anyhow she was red haired and pale skinned and was describing to me how hot it gets. I have to say it sounded horrific, especially for someone with rosacea! have you thought about moving? Sounds drastic i know.

Hi Sally

I have used Aloe vera for years now and find it is brilliant as a an aftershave balm and general applicaton for sore or itchy skin. I use Aloe99 or Aloe Pura gel from the local health shop. Doesn't work for everybody as some can find it irritates rosacea skin but I know many sufferers who find it a life saver especially for it's cooling effect.

I tried using it direct from a plant but found it was a bit of a messy process although my Sister used to cut the leaves off, wrap them in cling-film and store them for days in her fridge.

All the best

Peter

Actually, I'm born and raised in Dallas, and don't ever want to move from here (Unless it's to Ireland... at least I'd fit in there!) The heat can get to you, but having lived here my entire life, i wouldn't know what to do without it! LOL
