Hi folks,
Just thought I would check to see if there are any other members from Newfoundland. Rosacea is fairly prevalent in our province and it is difficult to receive treatment from qualified dermatologists. I'm sure there are many of you out there that have shared in my frustration.
With many thanks to Dr. Nase for publishing his book, I was able to take a very proactive stance with the aid of his book. The dermatologist I was seeing just followed the standard protocol: trigger avoidance, metro-cream and oral minocycline. It worked for a short time. When I began to flare up again, he was little or no help at all. He took offense to me bringing in Dr. Nase's book, so I dropped him. Difficult thing to do since there are not many derms in the province and the most qualified ones are not taking on any new patients.
Anyway, with the help of Dr. Nase's book and my GP I was able to bring my rosacea from severe to mild. Finally after a two year wait, I'm getting in to see a new dermatologist (one of only two in the area that provide IPL treatments). In the meantime, I've undergone 4 IPL treatments at a private clinic, "The Landells Clinic for Cosmetic Dermatology". I'm finally starting to notice a difference! For those of you that may be intersted, The Landells Clinic will be getting a Lumenis One machine towards the end of June.
