I realize the state of the art in IPL/laser treatment is constantly changing and subjective due to individual’s variance, lack of control (in the scientific sense, e.g. the same person cannot undergo different treatments without residual effects) and perhaps mostly – lack of complete understanding of the causes and mechanisms of the condition and the physiology.

Still given this “disclaimer” I would really like to know what are the current recommended settings for starting IPL treatments, filters, pulses, energy and passes? I think this question is FAQ material, but I only find confusing, at times contradicting reports. Can anyone (Dr. Nase?) keep an up to date summary?

Thanks much

I am trying, but I only have so much energy nowadays.

This needs to be done, but if not done perfectly my info could hurt you:

1. There are now 13 different models of IPL devices -- each setting differs considerably

2. There are now four 1064 YAGs --- each setting varies cosiderably

3. Doctors often modify them with technicians so that throws off the entire scheme

I am trying to figure out the best presentation. For example, I have had three doctors read my article in Dermatology times with the quadruple treatment pass and have severely burned the skin on their patients. They did not contact Dr. Darm or myself but just take it and run.....even with the warnings.
