Hello:
I developed rosacea over a year ago & it has recently progressed from minor reddness & bumps to my whole face & neck flushing red (burning sensation). I am seeing a derm. but do not know what antibotics to asked for. Are there any recommendations that helps with this condiction. I want to deal with this as soon as possible so it doesn't become pernament condiction.
Thank you.

The most common prescribed are doxycycline, minocycline and tetracycycline (all are part of the tetracycycline family) and are used for their anti-inflammatory properties rather than their antimicrobial ones.
You may also benefit from topical metronidazole which is sold as Noritate®, MetroGel®, MetroLotion® and MetroCream®

Those won't do anything for flushing. As far as I know, there aren't any antibiotics which aggressively prevent flushing, and they are normally prescribed for pustules, and ocular rosacea.

Yes - you want to ask about a drug called Clonodine for flushing, not antiobiotics.

I believe (and if I'm wrong somebody please correct me) that antibiotics can also be used to possibly "break" a bad flare. To get the inflamation down (which does help, though not prevent, flushing) and break the cycle, which can reduce the sensitivity somewhat and reduce the flushing somewhat. In this case I believe it is also been suggested that it is possible to use the macrolide antibiotics such as biaxin or azrithomycin (or one of the cylcines).
I know my onset was very very quick - I went from not noticeably flushing to flushing at just about anything in a matter of weeks. Unfortunately my doctor didn't think it was any big deal and at that time I had no concept of what a flare was, or that medications might have helped break the cycle and help in the process of trying to bring it under control.
