So I'm getting tired of my redness and constant flushing. Today I tried to put on foundation and it did nothing to cover the red!! After like 5 layers I still looked red. So vbeam is in order I think. Especially since my face hurts from getting all that makeup off! Ouch!!

So I'm going to England end of the month. I've already had a vbeam laser consult and she said she suggests I have them to help with the redness. I'm pretty sure I can get an appointment for early next week. That would be 3 weeks before my trip. Do you think that's enough time to heal? Obviously I wouldn't get a strong treatment but a lighter one to see how my skin reacts. Definitely no bruising. Any advice would be SO helpful about if this is enough
time or to wait

Hi EK,
I think 3 weeks should be enough time to be able to heal and cover anything left over from the VBeam treatment with makeup as long as you are not getting a purpuric treatment. Ofc, it depends on your individual reaction but I would say that generally this would be sufficient enough time to leave before your trip.

Good luck with your treatment!

Best wishes,
Melissa

Thanks Melissa. my other concerns are that my skin texture will change like be more flakey. Right now for the first time I'm less flakey and softer than usual. Being really flakey makes it impossible to cover with makeup. Also, do you know when you can start using sulfacetamide/sulfur afterwards? I use clarifoam and it helps keep me smoother. I wonder if vbeam would increase my pustules/papules either from the laser itself or from not using the clarifoam.

That's a tough one as right after VBeam I do get more papules if I remember correctly as it has been 10 months since my last treatment but I think I do get more papules. It does calm down after a few days/week or so though and gradually my skin texture also goes back to preVBeam. The VBeam makes my face much rougher in the treated areas for a few weeks. I can't remember if you use red light therapy but that might be able to speed recovery up from the VBeam.

I would ask your doctor when you can resume the Clarifoam wash but I think probably after 48 hours it should be fine. But that's just a guess so ask your doctor to be safe.

Whilst i havent had vbeam I have had n-lite (similar) and tend to find that my skin actually gets better after a treatment. Like all things until you try it out you just wont know how you react. As Missy says I would leave it a couple of days before using the clarifoamyes:
