View Full Version : Think I might have Rosacea (mild?), couple of questions about treatment

Hi guys, first post.

Yeah so I have redness on my face, mainly around my sinuses and a bit on the forehead too. I easily blush, used to go redder than the other kids at school after exercise and my face also goes quite red after eating.

I should probably go get a diagnosis from my doctor before deciding anything really but I'd just like to ask about what treatment methods are available. I probably don't have enough cash for laser surgery and, seeing how my condition is seemingly quite mild, I'm hoping it won't come to that. I hear drugs are available. Are they effective and do they have any side effects to mention?

Thanks!

Hmm, can't see an edit button.

Forgot to ask, can rosacea cause acne? Because I have a bit of acne too.

Hi Leaf and welcome to the RF.

It is possible to have acne coexist with rosacea but also possible to have papulopustular rosacea which may look like pimples but are not.

I would recommend that you make an appt with a derm to get a definitive diagnosis and then you can start a proper treatment plan for whatever condition it turns out you have. The key is a proper diagnosis and then by being proactive you can get it under control with the proper treatment.

Best wishes,
Melissa

Hi Melissa W, thanks very much for the welcome! smile:

Well my doctor says it's not rosacea, when I think it definitely is (albeit a mild condition). Cry: I've got the redness AND little bumps. But I've also got teenage acne so he brushed it off as just that.

Looks like I'm destined to stay like this: blush:
