Hello, i was wondering what you think about this picture? This is from last summer,my skin is now better but still i am wondering if it is seb derm or rosacea? My derm says it is some kind of eczema/seb derm. What do you recomend to try treat this?

Well I wouldnt like to say really. It looks like it could well be seb derm which I have always managed to keep under control by being careful about what I put on my skin and keeping away from too much sugargrin:

Your skin looks a bunch like mine. I have seen 4 derms and all said I have Seb. Derm.
How long was your face like that?

It was like that for maybe 3-4 days and then it calmed down, i know these days what to do and not with my skin. I just wash with a mild cleanser about once a day and the i let the skin rest. I do this to prevent dehydration and irritation.
My derm is convinced that it is seb derm, i wasnt sure because the pics i´ve seen does not look like this. I think it is a mix of teenage acne problem with at trace of seb derm
How do you manage your skin?

You won't see many pics on the web that look like that and coin it as Seb. Derm.
You will see some on here including mine that look like that.

To me it looks like my Seb. Derm.
I use a Ketoconazole Shampoo on my head and face 3 times a week, a Ketoconazole cream every night, and am currently on oral Ketoconazole.
I had a really bad flare recentley and these things have really calmed my face down.
The only other thing I have done is give up all alcohol, sweets, caffeine. I ahve also limited my breads, cheeses, dairy. I eat mostly chicken and turkey as well as red meat but not every day like i had been. I also try and eat green veggies and apples as much as possibe.
I have also started working out and losing weight to reduce the amount of work my body was going through due to extra pounds.
The theory behind Seb. Derm is that it is caused by an overgrowth of Fungus that lives within your body. Most people can naturally seem to keep the balance of fungus at normal levels. People with Seb. Derm can't at times. I read somewhere that people with HIV and Parkinsons disease get Seb. Derm more easily than others. Both Immune system issues so you can see the link to the theory.
I can tell you that I had small amounts of Seb. Derm before my big flare. At the time I was stressed by work, overweight, eating horrible...and my new baby had gotten me sick more times last winter then I had ever been in my life.
I have read so much on the internet as well as spoken to my Dr. about it. Anything that causes the immune system to weaken seems to have a relation to the flares. Stress, diet, infections, weight seem to be some common theories.
Every person seems to be different but these are just some of the things I do and seem to have helped. Hopefully once my flare is gone all the way I can start introducing some foods and drinks back in moderation. I was a huge abuser to my body when i got my flare up. Like everyone on here...it seems to take time to find out what will work for you when you get another one.

Was that a flush on your face and then did it settle down in a few hours? Or did that redness remain for sometime like weeks etc. before it cleared up a bit?
Did the redness come and go with various food that you ate or environmental conditions(heat)?

The thing is that my face get like that sometimes, often because i try so many different things because it is bugging me very much.
Now i dont use as much lotions etc. and my skin is relative calm, but it doesnt get any better either! I do flush from warm places and exercise but normally i do not. I can post some other photos of me in my current state, things have changed in a year i must say.
What do you do for your seb derm at the moment? I´ve tried protopic, cortison ( i was allergic and my face exploded) Born to be mild, skinoren, dalacin etc. Do you think i should change my lifestyle in any way? thanks!
