Hellohi:

Last night after my meditation class, I was filling very calm and happy. Not my usual stressed out self, worrying about everything and nothing. I noticed that I was able to use my computer and do some ironing without going red.smile: Two things normally turn my face red.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Cheers

Pete

Yea its always good to calm your nerves meditation is good at that,

Flushing is all about emotions and nerves,It does help trying to keep them settled,

I agree with Matt meditation is absolutely fantastic for so many things... anything that calms your anxiety should help with any conditions which have a psychosomatic component...

It sounds all new age and hippy-ish but it's totally true in my experience!

Finding the self-control to meditate daily is however another challenge!

But it's all shot to hell the moment some trigger comes on the scene....stress, emotional upheaval, family crisis, heat and so on.

I've been into yoga and meditation for a couple of years now...i practice haphazzardly and not daily as I should...but what can I say, i'm still wrapped up in my material nonsense and have bills to pay. If I were an indian yogi born a few thousand years ago, i could sit around for the most part, wear a loin cloth, do yoga, and meditate. I guess this is why they got so good at yoga...they had no bills to pay and the land and everything they needed to live was free. maybe some hunting and gathering for a few hours a day and then yoga and meditation the rest of the day.

the meditation stuff is great when i do it...the mind has to be cleared of all of the nonsense gathered up...stop the mind from seeing comparisons and then we can experience the oneness and then the bliss...sounds like cheesy spiritual crap i know..but its like being drunk on life. Then, when people poke fun at my rosacea, it doesn't matter lol

its important to be taught meditation by someone who genuinely understands it..it will be much easier to get the desired effects.

has it cured my rosacea? no...i've heard stories of the healing power of meditation...but i'm not very advanced so i'm probably not going to get much healing out of it. bottom line, its definitely a good thing to do and as someone who suffers from rosacea...its given me some better control about how I let the diesase effect my life.

lookout - you're right...the effects of the meditation wear off...and then the external nonsense starts to determine our inner well being....but when you reach a certain level and practice routinely...the effects do stay with you. It requires some serious commitment to get to that state.

Trying to reduce one's stress level is vital for rosaceans, however, all that humming, stretching and deep breathing stuff is disatrous for me.
It brings on a flush or intensifies one I already have.
I spent one year before I could even take a deep breath without lighting up the room.
I still can't talk a lot. It is the mechanics. Moving facial muscles ticks off my blood vessels. That includes yawning, squinting, eating, you name it.

I can see yoga and related 'exercises' helping people whose triggers are mainly emotional.
