Hi,
I'm currently living in Asia, and I'll be applying for a college in the states soon. I'm just wondering if there are any places that are basically cool and temperate throughout the year. I won't want to be in places with hot heaters in the winter like Boston. I'm thinking of maybe Seattle? Because I'm thinking of applying for the Shoreline Community College or the Seattle Central Community College, but I'm not sure if the weather might be ok for a rosacean like me, coz I really don't want to be flushing everyday in class. I also thought about L.A. , but would it be a bit too hot and sunny? Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks!

Seriously I just took a quiz regarding climate issues. It was for what place are you best suited to live and I got Hawaii (Honolulu) as my top choice (wouldn't I love to live there if I could!!) and california next. So, I would say for you HI and then Ca would be good choices though I agree LA may not be the best re the air pollution and such.
Here is my list

ps Seattle is very pretty and a fun place to live but it is misty all the time and can get cool so I am not sure about how that would be for you. Some people do have humidity as a trigger if they have seb derm also.

Hi there smile:
I live in the Seattle area and I mostly like it, except for (like Melissa said) for about two months a year it can get pretty cold. Conversely, it can also get really hot and humid for a month or two in the summer (as in, I'm so not looking forward to August). But on the positive side, the majority of the year is mild.
And let's face it...not a lot beats the great northwest for scenery and beauty grin:
(ok maybe Hawaii but who's got the time to work 3 jobs? shock:)
So here are my results: (lol I must've answered the EXACT opposite of whatever Melissa said)
1. Seattle-Bellevue-Everett, WA
2. Anchorage, AK
3. Tacoma, WA
4. Olympia, WA
5. Portland-Vancouver-Beaverton, OR-WA
6. Bremerton-Silverdale, WA
7. Eugene-Springfield, OR
8. Fairbanks, AK
9. Bellingham, WA
10. Spokane, WA

Thanks everyone!sidehug:
Well, initially I wanted to go to Seattle, but my parents wanted me to go to CA, and after some considerations, I've now decided to apply for a college near Silicon Valleygrin:

Winters are mild in the Silicon Valley, so the heaters shouldn't be too much of a problem. California sometimes gets big rain storms off the Pacific in the winter - kinda fun if you like storms. Here's a site that gives lots of info on cities like climate, crime, housing costs, etc. www.city-data.com. I use it a lot and have it bookmarked. California is expensive.
I took the quiz too but it wasn't accurate for me. My #2 top city was Washington, D.C. and I like smallish towns! LOL
