Hi everyone,
I'm looking for a book and/or a Web site that gives sample meals, recipes and suggestions for the acne rosacea diet. I have mild acne and mild rosacea so I am trying to eat foods that will help both conditions.
Doing research on this, it's frustrating because I've noticed that some foods that are good for helping acne are not good for rosacea. So that is why I would love to find info on what to eat to help improve mild acne AND mild rosacea. I know too that everyone reacts differently to foods when it comes to acne and rosacea so I've been doing some trial and error with some foods so far.
I've seen Web pages that list general foods to avoid and foods to eat, etc, but I want more than this. I want recipes and sample meal plans so that I can prepare meals and eat more than just raw or steamed or grilled vegetables and fruit. I am not a vegetarian. I eat tofu, I eat chicken and pork and even red meat and pasta sometimes. I grill and steam food but I am not creative when it comes to sticking to this kind of diet and I want to be mindful of using the right spices, herbs etc. I also don't want to be fanatical about this. I believe in moderation.
Most important though, I DO NOT want to lose weight on this kind of diet. I am petite and weigh only 91 pounds, and without some guidance and sample recipes and meals plans, I am afraid that I will lose weight if I stick to the acne rosacea diet. I would actually like to gain a few pounds because I'm 4' 11" and my ideal weight is 95 pounds. So that's why I don't want to be fanatical about this and why I want guidance to make sure I am getting enough good protein, carbs, etc. to maintain my weight.
Any books or Web sites that you know would be greatly appreciated.
I've also thought about going to a dietician or nutritionist for some suggestions and guidance. Have any of you done this with any success?
