View Full Version : Sulpher cream working immediately?

I started using the sulphur cream from David Hoskings a few days ago and since then I've had one flush and that was brought on by wearing a long sleeved black top and jeans for a day of walking around in high heat and humidity without a hat(the weather looked to be quite cool that day). Normally I'll flush a few times during the day starting immediately after I finish a shower, even if it is 5 minutes and barely lukewarm but now? Nothing!
I'm amazed at this... the cream said to expect results after a few weeks of use and I didn't anticipate anything this dramatic. I'm worried though, that this might be the peak of its effectiveness.
Has anyone used this cream and experienced such a quick reduction in their flushes? Did it provide more than short-term relief?
Thanks :)

I don't know your condition, but if you have a case of seb derm - which can seriously worsen your rosacea flushes - this responds pretty quickly to treatment in some cases. I've had experiences where after 3 days, my face has gotten far less reactive, just by using a better cleanser which clears up the seb derm.

I thought I might have something like that as I get the flakey bits. They go away, though, if I use a heavy moisturiser a few times a week and a lighter one the rest of the time. Unfortunately the moisturising does does nothing for the flushing.

As mediumdog said seb derm can make you flush or make rosacea flushing worse. Can you describe where your redness is?

The rosacea is only on my cheeks, I get the red bumps and the flushing quite badly there. It's also the only area I've been using the sulphur cream on.

Looking over the pics, the bumps on the girl's back look similar to mine. If I use a too harsh product I can get a blotchy rash - again, across my cheeks. Apart from that my face while flushing is typically white with bright red patches and bumps on the cheeks - the bumps go away once the flushing dies down.
I'm happy to report that I've just had a fairly hot shower (I really miss them) and the flushing hasn't happened. It's a shame that the cream smells so disgusting. I really don't know how I'd feel about using it were not I living alone.
