Reactions to each IPL treatment can vary, but they shouldn't vary dramatically.
Do you know if the energies were increased?
If they were, it might be they were too high and your skin has been singed.
You could try applying ice gel packs and/ or sucking on ice cubes to reduce inflammation.
If you have only 'just' been treated, ie, within the last couple of hours, the redness might well settle.
I would suggest not applying any topicals to your skin until it has.

Hi thanks for the reply
its been 3 hours now and the redness has reduced greatly smile:
I flushed this time before the IPL (not on purpose) would this cause me to be redder after the IPL?
Thanks

Glad to hear things are settling down.
Let's hope you get improvement from this regime of treatments.
I don't know if having a flush prior could be responsible for making you redder.
In theory, being flushed during treatment produces a better result as the targets ( the veins are bigger).
I have noticed from my own personal experience though, if I am severely flushed with accompanying inflammation during a treatment, my face is sore later on.
When IPL used to work for me, my face settled down by the time I went to bed and was good to go in the morning.
Now a days, IPL with the vasculight fails to work and simply irritates my skin.
Have you seen improvements with treatment so far?
What were/are your symptoms? Redness, flushing, P&P's?

Jason, I know u are a guy and all that but you still might want to consider if the redness is that bad to try a camoflage concealer. It is called Lycogel. I have used this since last Saturday when I had my IPL treatment. My face this morning was bruning real bad i dont know why and was vv red. I put on the Lycogel cream and not only did it completley cover up all signs of redness but also reduced the burning and lasted all day.

Ive noticed some improvements (in my checks mainly) but i havent really noticed much decrease in redness in my nose.
My symptoms are mainly flushing, i dont have too much permanent redness, but when i flush i get very red nose espically.
I find it difficult to not flush post IPL. The problem is i go to bed fine but wake up flushing. is there anything i can do to fix this?
How have your treatsment been?
Hi Ally,
Is Lycogel sensitive on the skin? like does it cause flare ups?
Also where can you buy it and does it look like your wearing make up?
Thanks

Youu might want to try a beta blocker like inderal etc. at night. I also go to bed with balmex on my face at night. You can get it in the grocery store with the baby products or pharmacy. Not very attractive but it does work for me to cut down the night flushes- they are the worst

Does inderal help you sleep by making you more tired aswell? also if you take inderal at night will you have a bad rebound flush the next day?

Didn't make me sleepy- just gave me very vivid, weird dreams. Also caused some weight gain. Now taking 5 mg Zebeta. Neither one stops flushing, but does make it less intense.
