Hi,

I am new to the forum, and looking to find a decent derm near Madison—such as Milwaukee or Chicago.

I currently am recovering from my first flare which came on approx four months ago. I believe it was brought on by a combination of stress, cold/dry weather, and the moisturizer that I was using. I had never had any flushing issues or sensitivities prior to the flare onset.

My rosacea I guess would be considered mild, but it doesn't feel that way to me. Especially since the onset happened so quickly—it's been hard to accept. My symptoms are daily itching and burning, redness and some acne has also started up. I also have some noticeable telangiectasia, specifically where the burning is more intense around my nose. This lead me to investigate IPL.

I had a consult at a reputable skin clinic in Madison, but the IPL tech (RN) said I wasn't a good candidate for IPL. She said I probably wouldn't get much results. However, I keep hearing that the earlier the treatment, the better to control the progression of the disorder.

I would really like to have a consult with a knowledgeable MD who treats with IPL. My search in this area of the site found Dr. Carolyn Jacob, and Dr. Dayan. Anyone still seeing them? Any suggestions or redirects other posts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Melissa
