Hello everyone,
I have rosacea which started with progressive flushing several years ago. Breakouts and flare ups were starting to get so much worse last year, so i consulted a skin specialist who started me on glycolic acid peels and md Formulation skin care products. Although the texture of my skin has improved over the months with this treatment, i still get flushing and breakouts. I'm not convinced that the skin care i am currently using is doing much good for my rosacea. My rosacea seems to be progressing while i am doing all the right things. Maybe it's time to try new products??
I am now on the search for a good foundation coverage suitable for rosacea skin. I like compact foundations because they are handy to take out and freshen up wherever i may be. |My skin specialist advises me to use mineral, oil and fragrance free foundation.

Can anyone recommend a good cleanser, moisturiser, anti-redness serum and SFP for rosacea skin that is working well for you. Also what foundation do you find gives good coverage and doesn't irritate your rosacea?
Thank you for any help. :-)
Best wishes xx

Hi and welcome.
It is very important to be gentle with your face and only use products that agree with you.

I like Eucerin Original moisturizing creme (in the tub) and original lotion.
I use the cleansing gel for red irritated sensitive skin to cleanse my face in the AM and PM. Every new product you try should be on a small area of your face at first just in case you have a negative reaction.

Rosa Relief cream is very gentle to our sensitive skin also and I use that every now and then.

I use vanicream spf 60 for sensitive skin in the warm (more sunny) months and during the winter months I use the Eucerin redness relief spf 15.

I use Dermablend coverup which has an spf of 30 but I'm not sure how practical that spf is since I don't use it all over my face. Just the pink areas. It covers pretty well but use sparingly because it looks most natural that way.

Hi and welcome

it is important to recognize that rosacea is not just a skin issue and cant not be cured by focusing on this area alone.

With regards the skin glycolic acid peels then I would agree with you-they can improve the texture of skin but have a very negative impact on flushing and progression of rosacea. As Melissa has said you need to use things that are gentle on your skin and she has given you some good links.

In a way a skin specialist may not understand the mechanics of rosacea which are not fully understood but appear to be a complex interaction of genetics, external irritants, stress/anxiety, etc.

My advice would be to have a look around the forum and decide what takes you interest. Many people have had good success through a combination of dietary changes, the use of non irritating topicals, supplements and prescription and OTC medication.

Best wishes
