Hi,
Does anybody try using MetroGel 1% for ocular rosacea?
Thanks,

Hi Fattcatt,
You can't put metrogel in your eyes so I don't think it would help ocular rosacea. Oracea or Solodyn(oral meds) might be more helpful in terms of ocular rosacea in addition to lid scrubs and frequent use of preservative-free rewetting eyedrops. What are your eye symptoms?
Best wishes,
Melissa

Thanks, Melissa, for the info. My symptoms are red and itchy eyes. Do I have to worry the potential systematic side effects from the oral meds? I would prefer topical over systematic treatment. Do you agree?

Hi Fattcatt,
Itchy could be allergies.
Have you had an evaluation from a doctor?
If it is allergies you may want an eyedrop called Pataday. It's a once a day application.
In the meantime you could try frequent use of preservative free rewetting drops, lid scrubs and cool compresses. That's as natural as you can get and see if that helps you.
Best wishes,
Melissa
