Is there any treatment for visible blood vessels on the upper eyelids?

Hi Caran,
I don't know the answer to this question. I am pretty sure that no doc would do laser on that delicate area though. Perhaps a plastic surgeon?
I'm really sorry that I can't help here but maybe someone else knows this.
I will ask my colleagues and get back to you if I find out anything that may help.
Best wishes,
Melissa

Hi
Well I never really visited this sub section but low and behold I am beginning to get a few broken vessels on my eyelids. Not something I am best pleased with.mad1:

Sarah, welcome to the club.
There are people that have been treated on the eyelids. The physician has to use metal shields on the eye (between the lid and the eye itself) in order to laser them. If I can find the links where I have read about it, I will put them up.
I read about it but have never seen it done nor found anyone to do it, albeit I have never searched too hard.
Best,
Rob

Hmm not best pleased about joining this club. How about the 'two big dilated veins around each nostril (as a result of a cold) club'. Thats pretty crap too.
The eyelid veins are right at where my eye lid meets my eye lashes so I'm guessing thats a non starter straight away with regards laser. All the more reason to not wear my glasses when I look at myself in the mirrorlaugh:

Oh is that the ticket? If I don't have my contact in I can't even find the toothbrush. I usually just leave only the shower light on so I can't see very well. I like to have mood lighting in my bathroom.
On the note of lasers however, it is hard enough to find a qualified professional to succesfully treat my face, I sure as hell haven't gotten to the point of trusting somebody with my eyelids.

I will show Dr Crouch when I next go and see what he says.

phlika29,
I had the exact same thing happen (right under the eyebrow line) last year during a seb-derm flareup and figured it would be permanent. But today, since I've got the seb derm more under control, noticed it has gone away.
So it might be better to wait it out, instead of risking the laser stuff.

No need to worry, I've been having laser/IPL on and off for the last 8 or so years. In fact I've got another coming up with dr Chu next week. I'm almost 100% positive that they wont treat my eyes for the very good reason that it is damn risky

I've been thinking there may be some people who think they only have rosacea
yet might also have some slight (undiagnosed) seb derm problem at the same time
and only go for the laser treatments to treat it.
Some of my telangiecstacias are permanent like around the nose + cheeks
but some of them also seem to fluctuate with the seb derm flareups.

I totally agree with you. it took years for me to work out what was seb derm and what was rosacea. What I thought was permanent redness sometimes disappears if my seb derm gets better. I find the n-light really helpful here.

I hate being in the sebdermarosaceatitus flushing club
It's such a grey area not knowing what's causing what

Just had to reply to this thread....I have been watching my upper eyelids for 10yrs now....and every once in awhile my eyes flare up like my face....it scares the bleep bleep out of me! For some reason on the last several IPL's during the recovery phase my eyes flared up due to the post hyper inflammatory reaction....however, I just did the VBeam 3wks ago and this did not happen and I had a heck of a long recovery time....how odd!
Anyway, I have Dr.Nase's book and that's where I remember him talking about lasers on the eyes and using eye shields and so on.....how scary does that sound?
Please post what you find out from your doc...I would be really suprised if anyone actually does this!
