Hi there,
I am a new user to this forum from New Zealand. I have been battling rosacea for a few years now and not able to get any help or relief at all through dermatologists as they seem to downplay my rosacea as being excema and just to put on some aqueous, Lemnis cream and best of all (sarcastically) hydrocortisone! I have described my rosacea symptoms and taken along a print out from the internet on rosacea but still they are not prepared to take an indepth look at my problem.
It is now consuming every facet of my life, I am a mother of a 17month old and its really hard to put the situation aside for her because its not resolved so I desperately need to look for help here. My situation is that my symptoms initially were brought on by spending time in the snow for a day, well what a bad choice, my face heated up from then on for several months until summer when it did subside and everything was ok. Winter comes, cold days and the heater comes out, that sends it to a flush. Also being outside in any wind causes it to flush.
I have undertaken IPL but felt this has not really worked. I went out in the freezing cold one evening and that night in bed I heated up so much on my face, ears, neck and chest it was terrible. That was 3 months ago and I flush quite easily in those areas.
In the past 3 weeks I have had dry patches on my temples, face, in front of my ear and I had a biopsy done which came back as saying a have excema with a rosacea background. Thats fine we are healed from that but the same dry patches on my cheeks worsened with hydrocortisone (instructions from dermatologist) which I knew it would as this is my rosacea. My cheeks are smooth but tiny red capillaries are present on the central face and as I have been deeply worried these have swelled and also weep. I have intense itching and burning sensations. They also feel almost furry/ dry even with Lemnis on as I know this is not what rosaceans should be putting on as a moisturiser. My nose also flushes and has a slight throbbing sensation, I am sure it has swelled slightly at the bottom too.
Please help me, I have read so much about rosacea, and there are so many treatment creams, pills etc.... I need some advice on where to go for some products etc..I have so many creams etc that I could start up my own pharmacy and have spent thousands trying to get relief.
Looking forward to learning more on this forum and offering my opinions wherever I can. Will be posting photos soon.
Thanks,
Sarah
