I was diagnosed with Rosacea about 3 years ago. I had my 4th IPL treatment yesterday. I am thrilled with the results. My reddness has diminished so much that I can hardly believe it. I wait about 8-12 weeks between treatments.
The negatives I experience from IPL are as follows: pain during the procedure and mild to moderate reddness and swelling for about a week after. The positives so outweigh the negatives. I'll be scheduling my 5th IPL in another 12 weeks. I was told initially that it would take several treatments.
I think the key to these treatments is making sure your Dermatologist is well versed on Rosacea. The first Dermatologist I went to see when the Rosacea started, had difficulty diagnosing me and had me try a couple of topicals that inflamed my skin and I now know were not appropriate for my condition. I made some inquiries and switched to a different doctor. This Dermatologist is fantastic. I also use Finacea twice a day.
