I've gotten some strange e-mails that were forwarded to me because of my membership in a Rosacea Forum. Not sure if it is this one or Yahoo.
They are from total strangers (nobody I've ever pmd etc.) asking what I know about the institute. I gave my opinion (not positive) to one person and he kept asking follow-up questions and then aked my phone #. I did not give out my # and got another E-mail from another stranger- just deleted it. I want to be helpful to people but I think somethign weird is going on. Anybody else get these?

Sounds strange. Have you posted on this forum about the institute? Perhaps the person thought you had first hand experience?
Not sure how they got your personal email account (or was it a PM?) unless they guessed it?
Either way you did the right thing and just deleted the email and as you are aware never give out any personal information.

I have checked my yahoo id and found no strange emails.
Can you all paste here a copy of those emails? They might still be in your trash can.

If someone Googled your name they would find a lot of activity, including your email (which I blurred out of the screencap below).

This was something that was brought to my attention recently. It seems that there are some sites that post user profiles and they are do it in such a way so they come up near the top when Googled.
You also have allowed the "email" option, so folks can PM or email you.

I was contacted by a well-known supporter of Dr. Nase. It was out of the blue, I'd never spoken to this person before.
I'm not saying this is related to arb161's experience. In fact, it's probably not. It was weird, though.

So, what is the point of these communications? I mean, the intention of the sender(s)?
In my case, it wasn't anything untoward.
They just said they'd also been using MII, that it had been the best thing for their rosacea that they'd ever used, and that it was unfortunate that the risks outweighed the benefits at this point.
They pointed me to a thread about heart failure (http://melanotan.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?num=1186415296) that I hadn't seen before.
It was just strange because it was out of the blue, and also because I do not share their opinion of Dr. N.
I doubt it's related to arb161's case.

I have never posted about the clinic. I think that you guys are right- must come from yahoo account. The e-mails pose the same question.- What is my opinion of the clinic. Guess its kind of like a push poll. Eventually they want my telephone # and want to get me to the clinic. I'm deleting all further e-mails like this

Can we please stop calling him DOCTOR Nase?
He supposedly has a doctorate in something or other but he is NOT a medical doctor. The man does not deserve that title after being so unethical and unprofessional.
He shall be referred to as Nase only.

Steve,
Every day in the RRDi pending membership applications there are weirdos trying to join the RRDi. The average is between 10 to 15 a day. Of these usually all of them are spammers, trolls, and lurkers trying to get email addresses from members. The phenomenal growth of this the rosacea forum (this group) is no doubt due to such lurkers who are joining. The increase in spam is do doubt due to such invaders. The IPB forum is absolutely the best defense against such intruders with the screening process you set up. The almost 300 members there are legit members who can be at the very least checked out with a profile that isn't lurky.

Hey Millie
Well if I was a betting man I reckon I would put a few quid on Nase being behind this, especially as we heard recently that he was cold calling some of Nielson's old patients. The truth will emerge one day as it always does but it sounds like business at the Clinic isn't booming as much as he would like us to believe. Remember if Nase quotes any numbers always remove at least few noughts off the end to arrive at a more realistic figure.
Thanks

Bah on titles. Titles are given to people who earn them. Maybe he did earn it at one point in his life but not now. He doesn't deserve the respect and you know it.

The mistake here is to assume that the title says something about a person's moral and ethical integrity ( or that by some queer alchemy it confers upon the bearer high moral qualities etc). It does not. It merely indicates that a person has been willing to spend seven years in a library (or whatever).
I must tell you, seven years spent in a library is no more deserving of applause and respect than seven years spent down a mine or stacking shelves.
Peter
19th September 2007, 06:32 PM
Or seven years spent fantasising and making up false qualifications, one of which if you could call it a qualification, was obtained or invented over the phone. Who can never forget this thread in 2005 where he announced to the world his "big breakthrough" or the replies from the innocent members on here at the time, who really believed he had achieved a great honour. Like many before them and many after them, they were just simply duped.

Read it again and see the lies staring you in the face. His motive - to make money out of rosacea sufferers by pretending he was something he wasn't and never will be in a million years.
His big problem was he got found out and that was the start of his dramatic demise.
There is no mistake here about his moral and ethical integrity.

I understand what you're saying, but to me it's about accuracy, not respect.
If "Dr." were a term of respect there would be many people without Ph.D.'s or M.D.'s whom I'd call "Dr."
As GJ said, there are no moral judgments involved in the title.

Its a shame that Nase spent that many years in college to end up answering phones and referring people to some wacko ETS clinic.

It does sound like a push-poll via email.
Not that I support John McCain, but the usefulness of this tactic (GWB vs. McCain in South Carolina during the 2000 election primaries and the GWB push-polling, orchestrated by Rove) is disgusting.
Why tacitly attack someone's credibility through this sort of "advertising" if you didn't have faith in your own credibility? It's pathetic and, quite frankly, lame.

Dr. Nase is a Fraud
Reading that old thread again from July 2005 I reckon this is where I came in. I just hope he isn't still out there in another two years trying to deceive people? If he is then there is something terribly wrong somewhere.

hey guys..I'm posting this here in order to avoid a new thread...
I know I don't have rosacea, but people here have been nice enough to let me participate. I warn people about the risks of ETS because I wish I had known the true facts before letting a surgeon butcher my central nervous system.
There are doctors trying to con rosaceans into believing that ETS surgery is a dream treatment when it might be the start of their worst nightmares. Our health is too important to risk by making dud decisions
based on fake testimonials.
One of the toughest things is fighting off the most determined people who keep hitting the boards with new identities. You expose them and they come right back in an other disguise. The only chance real members have is if they can hear about the evolving characters and their tactics so they can be on the look-out for the next disguise. I hope you won't mind if I just write one post to let Forum members know that Jordan, your Seattle rapper who was also ESFB's Corvette and Rosie, is said to be back at ESFB using the facial blushing forum many rosaceans also post at:
http://www.esfbchannel.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3012
It looks like the person behind the characters has learned that promoting one clinic or one doctor gets him blasted. Praising ETS generally is the safest way to whitewash this dangerous op and the reputations of people whose names are linked with it.
Uglynred is also 17 but now lives in England. He was going to get ETS and claimed the risk is "a 5% chance on Drooping eye lid but that can be “sorted 5mins with platic surgeun". That is total BS! it's not only the eyelid but also the eye that suffers. it's a medical problem...not just a cosmetic one.
Once exposed, he said he won't be having ETS after all because his doctor didn't agree with it, so that is a kind of victory. But he might be back to make another attempt on the Rosacea Forum soon.
Take care, and stay well

Hey there Alex
Just trying to catch up here.
How interesting that Uglynred joined ESFB on Easter Sunday 2008. As has previously been noted, Corvette joined ESFB shortly before Thanksgiving 2006 and Rosie joined on Christmas Eve 2006.
People who are socially isolated find the big family holidays hard to cope with. Remember Nase joined the old ESFB Christmas Day 2002 and he tried to join the new board Christmas Eve 2005, but Ed wouldn't let him post.
Only Jordan at this Forum misses the pattern, but the timing of his appearance may be some personally significant date.
Yes, I think this "character" will be back again soon. Sigh! More detective work for the Mods in trying to keep this place safe!

Hello Alex
Nobody will ever complain about you putting up the truth so thanks for taking time out to post the update and warning. I don’t follow the ESFB so I wasn’t aware all this was going on, although I did hear about the previous pathetic Corvette / Rosie episode.
I suppose it could be worse and this so called Uglynred’s mom might suddenly appear from nowhere defending her son's honour, as we saw on here recently with Rapper Jordan.
Seriously, this type of con on people suffering from a medical condition is just plain sick and there doesn’t seem to be much doubt who is behind it yet again. The words EVIL spring immediately to mind and I hope people will complain to the Authorities because that’s the only way anything will ever get done.
Here is that link again: http://atgindsha01.atg.in.gov/cpd/complaint/complaint.html (http://atgindsha01.atg.in.gov/cpd/complaint/complaint.html)
Lodge a complaint and you will be able to prevent other innocent people from being caught out and as Alex has warned, avoid signing up for potentially damaging surgery which will not help their original problem. She should know because she got lied to once and now spends much of her spare time trying to help others avoid making the same mistake.
Peter
P.S. A great pity he didn't post his photo. I suspect the name Uglynred might be very apt laugh:

Oh, don't worry ugly is at it on esfb - his mommy or daddy or friend or girlfriend will be showing up soon - no worries!!
Thanks for bringing this up, Alex. I have noticed that not one person on this forum has claimed to be helped by this clinic, and nase seems to be just soliciting clients again.
ETS is dangerous - fact, and bottom line - and is never a cure for anything.

Go back to Alex's last post and click on the www.etsus.com (http://www.etsus.com) at the top of the screen underneath "sweaty hand treatment" and that takes you straight to it.
Not sure how old that video is but on reflection I suspect they are referring to the Winter Olympics in 2002 and not this years main Olympics in Beijing. No big deal really especially as it appears he was nominated by a patient.
No doubt someone will correct me if I am wrong - assuming anybody is interested of course?

I'm not sure what year that video was made either. Alex, do you know?
Either way, I find it very sad that this 'minor' surgery is given air on TV as a wonder treatment without the journos doing proper research. To me, it appeared to be a paid advert!!! Who knows?
Perhpas it was because of the Olymic Torch thing? Doesn't matter for which Olymics, Peter! I just wonder how in the heck it came about in the first place?! Sheesh!

Hello Jen
Why should any of us having anything to fear from telling the truth? Nase is working for Nielson and there is enough evidence around to show that people are being fed false information about laser treatments for rosacea and also the supposed benefits of ETS surgery. In my book using these tactics to make money out of other peoples misery is as low as it can get.
Thanks
