I'm a big crybaby, lol very emotional..
does crying make it worse for my eyes? do I cry more because my eyes are sensitive?.

Anyone know?

Also what are the lasting effects of too much steroid drops?

I know that crying makes my eyelids swell and turn red. Jenn

Hi Neveen,

Crying will just irritate your eyes and lids.
Cool compresses will help you with that!

Steroid drops can elevate intraocular pressure (glaucoma) so make sure you are getting your IOP checked regularly.
They may also cause steroid induced cataracts so as long as you are getting regular eye checks and being monitored it should be OK.

Best wishes,
Melissa

I pretty much gave up crying a few years ago. All it did was make me feel worse and my face get red and blotchy. :D

Hi Sarah,

Crying makes me feel better usually.
After a good cry I feel stronger and able to deal with whatever crisis is happening at the moment. :D

But now my face is red and blotchy after a cry and that makes me sad :(
It used to not be that way.

I don't know if you guys get 'Big Brother' in the UK. It's a reality tv show with Julie Chen. Anyway, this girl Amber cried the most of anyone I've ever seen in my whole life. I mean, she cried every hour. For good things, for bad things, for neutral things LOL. And talk about red and blotchy. I'm sure she got redder and blotchier than any of us do!

Best wishes,
Melissa

Ever since I was a child my face has gotten red and blotchy when I cry. Is this is an early indicator of rosacea? Not a big deal, just curious when I read your two post's about red and blotchy faces when you cry!!

I don't think so.
Lots of people get blotchy when they cry. Even people who do not have rosacea.
It's just that when you have rosacea you tend to get blotchy to more things LOL .
So just because you get this way when you cry is not necessarily a hallmark of having rosacea.
