I am selling my pc on craigslist and someone tried to scam me!!! I was suspicious from the beginning and then I knew for sure when he said I had to mail it before I could get my money order from USPS!! I am so appauled!!! Does anyone know how to turn in internet fraud??? I doubt there is much they will do without any money being taken and all I have are email addresses. This is totally bad for people who trust everyone!!! Anyone, any answers, comments??? Kathy

They've got disclaimers and alerts all over Craigslist. As soon as I listed a condo for rent I got an immediate reply!! Wow, I was thrilled. It was bogus  I can't even begin to wrap my head around these 'original' scammers. Even the emails that send you the response have highly visible warnings alerting you to scammers.

Just let it run off your back. It's not personal. I think at least one idiot scammer replies to every ad. We were selling our motorbikes this spring (lost too many friends who got wiped out by old people or tourists.) I also listed our gear, and with the first reply I took ALL the gear off and gave it away to the lucky brothers who came and bought the Bonneville. I hate selling things to strangers at the best of times, but Craigslist brings things a little close to home. I prefer eBay, you don't have to meet anyone!

Thanks Twickle Purple!!
That is a horrible thing to do to people!! Sorry that happened to you too!! I am letting it go, just thought I would see how common it is. I fell for it at first too. Anyway, that's the way the crook crumbles, lol. If only we could do something to get them caught. Too many I guess. Thanks again! Kathy
