Hi All,

I just posted my story in the Newbie Intro forum.

I wanted to share my steroid rosacea pictures to show what steroids can do...all I can tell you is to stay away from using steroids on your face...from what I understand, a couple of days may be ok but anything longer than that and you can end up like me.

This is what happens when you have a steroid rebound: Lovely

Here I am today...18 months later...still having issues but not as severe. I continue to imporve but albeit very slowly...I measure my improvement in months not weeks....lately it seems that the improvement has stopped and this is what I am left with...I have seen many derms who cannot tell me if I have rosacea or some kine of dermatitis....what do you all think?

Hi Monte, I have to say your skin really looks good now. A little pink in the cheeks, but it certainly could be regarded as normal. Just be extra careful that you don't use anything too harsh on your skin now, my skin is way more sensitive since using Desonide last year. It did clear my skin, but wow, the rebound was horrible!! My derm was too vague in her instructions and I used it a little too much. Now I know!! Good luck to you! :D

second photo looks quite good - do you flush/blush or have burning sensations? why did you use steroids in the first place?

Max

I got a tiny rash near my eye from using swimming goggles and my derm prescribed steroids...I posted the details of my ordeal in the newbie section if you are interested.

As patty indicated, my derm was very vague in her instructions...the word sparingly was never used.

I still get flushed and have periodic burning sensations but not as bad as it was a year ago...the p&p's were the worst.

The healing process is very long and my doctor, Marvin Rapaport, prepared me for the long road I have been faced with....is that a pun?

take care
