After suffering from mild acne rosacea and seb derm on my forehead, i have just spent £1,050.00 on a new product which has just come out which contains a stem cell renewing ingredient (it claims it has it in it).

I will be getting the serum hopefully next week, and am scared of using it, as i have read good and bad reviews about telomerase skin cell rejeuvenation. there doesn't seem to be any extensive trials on this product, so i guess i will be a guinea pig if i decide to use it

I was so desperate last week after a real bad flare up that i have decided to buy this and give it a go.

Any thoughts of whether you think i am mad to do this or whether anybody else have considered this option.

Thanks Taff

Basically if you can afford to lose the money, why not? Most of us
are not in such a financial postition to spend that kind of money on
an untested, unreported treatment for rosacea. But many of us will
be waiting for you to post your results. Is there a name for this
product and any links to a web site? Don't just post this and disappear
like so many others have done. If this works for rosacea, let us know,
please.

Throwing money at a problem is madness?

Not at all. As Kurt Vonnegut would say, that's what money is for.

The very best of luck to you.

Don't worry, i wont disappear, i only found this forum a few days ago, i will put my full story about my condition and everything. I've had 2 IPL's in the last 2 months, and was due to have one this weekend, but had to cancel due to my skin being really inflamed, i've calmed it down with steroid cream now, and hopefully will get my 3rd treatment done by next weekend.

Yes, it is the Re Vive Peau magnifique- the reason why i didn't say what it was, was because i thought you might think i was an agent for the company, as i am a newbie.

I am very concerned about using it, due to the fact there doesn't seem to be a lot of info about it, but if it can do what it claims, its got to be worth a shot, if it dont then i've wasted a lot of cash.

I should get the product within the next 7 days, so i will keep you all informed.

Thanks Taff

I hope they have some sort of money back guarantee, Taff. It is a mountain load of money!

Best of luck!

I react to many topicals so this would be an expensive risk unless they give samples.

I guess it's the same price as 3 IPL sessions though so it's not so bad if it works. It depends how long the bottle lasts though I guess.

did find this on the website...

MPI
MPI slows signs of aging by inhibiting the loss of skin’s natural elasticity and collagen levels. MPI rebuilds broken capillaries and significantly diminishes fine lines, sun damage, and rosacea.

Thanks Jen, no money back guarantee :(

I am allergic to most topicals as well, but i'm going to give it a go.

Its NOT a rosacea topical either, but if it can renew skin cells like it claims, its got to be worth a go. Otherwise big bucks gone

Hi -

I've bought this product (Peau Magnifique) from ReVive twice. It's 1,500 a pop so it's very expensive. I bought it last year when I was visiting NYC and could get it shipped to my house in the U.S. without paying tax!

It's a serum that you use for one full month and at night only. I have many of ReVive's products already, use their Serum Protectif sometimes in the morning and also their SPF 15 Oil-Free lotion. Anway, you use the Peau at night after cleansing and 1-2 drops max. on your face. It gives an instant glow to the face and calms redness down. It also firms and tightens your skin during treatment. I noticed while I was using the product, my face became clearer, more glowy, and youthful. It has a lot of growth proteins and peptides in the serum which are good for the skin and I didn't experience any irritation. I'm 38 going on 39. However, the results only lasted during treatment and about 1 month after. You could definitely see a difference, but for me, the results being short and not longer lasting, was a bummer. I called the ReVive representative and she said some use the product every 3 months. Lordy, that's a lot to spend on serum - 6k a year! Anyway, I did order again and used for another month. Similar result - lovely skin during and a short time after treatment. If they made a serum similar but to use everyday which was a bit less costly, I'd buy it!

Please let us know your experience. Wanted to share mine.

Hi Yvette,

just wondered if you think it helps capilaries and redness or was it more skin tone?

I think, due to cost, I'm going to have to write this one off though.

is the bottle so tiny it only lasts a month or could it be spun out longer??

thanks

Hey all -

ReVive launched Peau Magnifique in July last year. Is this what you ordered? I pre-ordered it from Sak's Fifth Avenue NYC when I was there on July 4th holiday. It was shipped to me mid-July.

The serum is in 4 sealed mini vials. Each vial lasts about 7-8 days. To be honest, each little vial should have a little more quantity, as I found one drop for the entire face, wasn't enough. I did 1-2 drops a night and had just enough for the 7 days. The serum calms redness and evens out the skintone. It gives a glow to the skin. When I was using it, I did look a few years younger - my skin was clearer and more glowy. It wasn't miraculous or anything, I think it's a similar type of product like Botox or Restalyne, just not injectable, but a serum. It's like a product you would use in advance before a big event - like a class reunion, big party, wedding, etc. I don't believe it does anything for broken capillaries. I don't really have any, mainly pink cheeks/nose, which I get occassional IPL's for. I think maintanence with other lasers (whichever are needed) are still key. Just don't do IPL's or laser while using the ReVive serum - it says to do no other treatments. Again, I was pleased with the results, but wish they lasted a bit longer.

Regarding ReVive's other products, I do really like Serum Protectif and Oil Free Sensitif SPF 15. The Serum Protectif has a slight amount of glycolic acid, but has lots of antioxidants in it like Superoxide Dismutase and EGF (growth factor). I've been using this serum for 8 years and it's the best one I've come across. It's made for sensitive skin, it tightens, brightens, lightens, and helps a little with acne (has yeast in the serum which helps kill bacteria). I've had less breakouts with this and no irritation. If my skin is very dry or sensitive (or if I'm getting IPL) I don't use the product for a few days or week. ReVive's SPF 15 lotion and cream are also nice- light and non greasy. They are very gentle and for extremely sensitive skin (no acids). All ReVive's products are pricey, but I splurge on this and conserve on other stuff.

Sorry this was longer than I intended. Good luck and let me know if you have questions.

Well, its finally come today. Packaging weighs a ton!!

I'm not going to start using it until sunday night, as i'm going out tomorrow afternoon, and just in case this gives me a flare up, i'm not going to take a chance using tonight.

I dont think one minute this will be any good, and got this feeling i've chucked a £1000 away.

I'll keep you posted.

I expect i'll get a massive breakout tomorrow-if so i will be stopping-i'll keep you informed.

Just put on my second dose, dont think i will be able to stand it much longer. Makes your skin real dry and now i'm burning up. My skin looks worse tonight after washing than it did last night.

The packaging is like a cube made from plastic resin, look impressive- shame the actual product is crap!! I know its early days, but i just know this isn't going to work - what a waste of money :(

can you use moisturiser with it or do you just use the product on its own??

I was also interested that you had had IPL recently. Did the IPL help your condition at all??

Hi Moomy, no you cant use moisturiser with it, and i dont think i'll be using it again either, Woke up with a breakout today, so i'm not using it again. Makes your skin so dry-might be ok if you have oily skin.

The IPL helped a bit with broken veins, but overall i would say its made my seb derm much worse, since i've had it done my skin has deteriorated quite a bit, i only had 2 sessions done, and have decided not to have any more for the time being. It doesnt help with breakouts at all IMO.

Cheers Taff

Hey there -

Not sure what cleanser you are using, but maybe it's a little too drying? Yes, the serum doesn't provide a lot of hydration, but if your cleanser is drying too , then it may be increasing your dryness. Do you get breakouts regularly or no? From what I read, breakouts or clogged pores are in the skin weeks in advance, and generally using a product for a day/two is not the product, but that the pimple was already forming in your skin. The ReVive serum didn't break me out, but I agree everyone's skin is different. I also use the ReVive oil free moisteriser for the day.

If you decide not to use it, you may wish to auction it off on Ebay! I think you will get some bids. Good luck.

Hi Yvette

I use agera medical formula ultra mild cleanser-i've been using it for 2 years, so its not that.

I have very dry skin anyway, this stuff totally dries me out. I've decided i'm going to keep using it but only on my forehead. I haven't used it on my cheeks tonight, and they are much less flushed than last night.

I have read some customer reviews on this product, and 2 out of the 4 reviews said the same thing-its obviously not for everyone.

Glad it works for you though :D

hi Moomy, i've had to stop using it altogether. i'll probably have to sell the rest of it on e-bay. Its absolute crap.

I also got a red lamp set up yesterday which cost me £209, but i'm not going to use that now either as i've decided to give roaccutane a go 10mg a day.

so its been an expensive month.

I'm going to put the lamp up for sale on here tomorrow for £150 posted. I have the receipt for the £209 posted which i paid for it. It was one of those blue/red acne machines, but i asked for all red lights.

The company is this one

Taff,
I am sorry as well this didnt work, that was a lot of $$$$ to spend to be dissapionted, with no return policy, argh, I would be so upset! Hopefully you will get back some of the money on ebay.
Have you considered keeping the red light array for now? I know other people on this board use it in conjuction with other meds, so It may be worth it to hang on to it and give it a go.

I have now started to take low dose accutane, so i wont be able to use the red light. My seb derm has gone really downhill last week or so. I'm also using zinc and castor oil cream. Its very greasy, but i'm hoping it may help some of the skin to heal-has anyone tried this??
