Welcome to the board

First of no one here is going to be able to give to a definate diagnosis. I would always recomend that you seek a medical opinion.

I the meantime I would say that you do look red in the first and last picture. But I also see people this red all the time and they dont necessarily have rosacea.

You describe flushing to alcohol, sun and or strenous exercise. Is this the only time you flush? How long does a flush last? Is it painful? Do you have any small papules (similar to small spots)?

To be honest lots of people flush to the triggers you describe and it may be that you have very sensitive skin that needs to be treated carefully rather than rosacea.

If I were you I would make sure you find a good suncream or wear a hat in the sun.

Avoid strenuous exercise that makes you flush, switch to lower impact sport.

Avoid washing in really hot water-use tepid instead. Dont rub hard at it.

Start taking a supplement that will help to strenghten capillaries: grape seed extract or pygenerol.

Find a maoituriser and face wash that doesn't irritate your face.

If flushing with alcohol is an issue you may like to look at these links:

First of all, thanks for the replys!

Sarah,
Its true that I have acne prone skin but these pictures I posted are, from far the "worst" I have with the redness.

I don't know if it is rosacea cuz my face isnt red all the time, infact it isnt, just with sun exposure, sport etc etc, but I can get really red ffs.

When I start flushing (new here dont know if its the correct word to describe), it isn't painful, but I feel a somehow burning feeling.

As for the sunscreen and moisturizer, I dont use it daily, only when needed.
I just wash and clean (with a cleanser + scrub 2/3 times week).

Ill try to get that supplements asap cuz I really want to improve, and waht do you think about a light tanner?

Check this "daily" photos:

Again, Thank you very very much! and if you have any suggestions plz reply!

P.S: which of both supplements ( grape seed extract or pygenerol ) is better for my case/you recommend? THANKS!

The supplements both do the same thing, I prefer to take pycnogenol (marine pine bark extract) twice a day. You dont need to take both just one or the other.

What I would recommend is to stop using the scrub immediately. You need to treat you skin gently so NO RUBBING/SCRUBBING :)

Your pictures make you look healthy. Do you live in a hot country? I make sure that you use a suncream every day.

Ps I spelt pycnogenol wrong the first time around.

yep, I live in Portugal! :)

I use the scrub to keep off the dead cells to avoid a breakup, do you think to cut the usage to once week would be a problem?

For sunscreen I'm a 19 yeas old male, and I hate to use it cuz makes my face white and when I do sport with it, it kinda melts in my face.
Any suggested brand?

Another question: do it seem it is rosacea or some randoms flushes? I have them for a long long time, and I must find what triggers it!

Thanks again,
Roots.

Hi again!

When I was looking for grape seed extract pills I found this:

http://www.solgar.co.uk/modules/shop/view.asp?catid=6&Prodcode=E1910

tagged as:"No-Flush Niacin" wouldnt this be better? cuz grape seed extract and pycnogenol are reallllly expensive!

Pycnogenol from solgar: 30mg: 60 Capsules (50€)
grape seed extract from solgar: 100mg: 30 Vegicaps (30€)

What do you recommend? :S Im tired of being red all over my face :/

Well the no flush bit doesn't mean it will stop you flushing all it means is that this type of Niacin wont actually make you flush as some of them can. Its might be good to take but it doesn't work in the same way as the other two supplements.

You are right grape seed extract and Pycnogenol are really expensive though. you dont need take both just one or the other. How about 50mg of grape seed extract, is that cheaper? How about other brands??

Regarding the scrubbing, once a week would be better but none at all would be best. On the Yahoo rosacea support group they have been talking about using oatmeal a a face pack. Mix it with water, apply it and once it is completly dry you take it off and it will also take off any flaky skin. I will find the link to the message and post it up abit later.

There have been alot of threads on suncreams recently and I would reccommend that you look in the topical section as its just a case of trial and error. :?
