Hi everyone
Im 17 years old, 18 at the end of this month. I've always had fair skin, but in the last year, maybe two, the skin on my cheeks has become redder and redder. Some days its better than others, and it is most definetly worse when im under stress or embarassed. However, in the last month flushing has become more frequent and the cheeks are becoming redder and redder. If you could check out the pictures below and give me an idea of what to do. I haven't been to the doctors yet or anything. http://img410.imageshack.us/img410/8601/face004an3.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
Any advice or comments would be lovely. Thanks!
Ajay

I would go to your gp and get them to have a look, could be Rosacea but as I have read on this forum before there are quiet a lot of things that give us a red face.

Flushing to the triggers you describe is common with people who have rosacea but also those who don't.
How long does the flush last? seconds, minutes, hours?
Is the picture taken during a flush or is that the 'resting colour'.
What are you using on your skin?
I was always the type of person who blushed easily and flushed aswell but I wouldn't say that mine was rosacea from the beginning. It wasn't until I used some very harsh acne chemicals and got sunburnt, etc that it flipped it into rosacea.
Being 17 must be a stressful time in your life. I would try not to get too caught up with worrying how you look. Everyone at your age is going through so many things that they probably won't even have time to notice your skin.
Saying that it would be worth going to your doctor and seeing what they say. In the meantime take some time to look around the forum and you will see that even if your skin is sensitive you should be protecting your skin now rather than waiting for it to get worse.
If i were you I would avoid any type of harsh skin acne type product, avoid rubbing at it harshly, keep the water you shower and wash with quite cool. Try to find things that keep you calm (try breathing techniques when you are stressed-such as breathing in for 5 counts but breathing out for 10), protect your skin from the sun by wearing a hat or suncream, try to eat healthily (not too much sugar or fast food).
Sorry not many people have replied, its been abit quiet around here for abit.
Best wishes and welcome
