I received my acnelamp (triple headed, all red) in the week and have had four sessions. A few mins in the morning. I wear the goggles provided, with a tight fit.

So far so good but........
Throughout the day, my eyes slowly grow more iritable.........like one gets when we have not slept for two days...........then in the evening, the eyes start to sting.......until eventually.......I'm in pain and cannot keep them open.....it's really quite bad.
A few eyes drops then sorts out the problem util the next evening.
1. Has anyone else experienced this? If yes, what did you do about it? Was it only temporary?
2. I wonder would I be better off with more expensive goggles? Acnelamp sell some at $125, which obviously have something, which the free ones provided do not.

All input appreaciated.
Thank you

Well this morning...... I wet, two small cotton wools balls.........placing them inside my goggles.......keeping my eyelids moist.
I will post tomorrow on the results. Fingers crossed.
If this fails, then I'll apply some eyedrops, immediately after my morning session, not waiting until the evening.

Perhaps its the tight fit or the material they are made from. It was a good idea to try the cotton wool. I know TP and a few others don't bother wearing any googles at all.

The goggles bothered my eyes, just as you describe. That's why I stopped wearing them.

Really?
That pretty interesting.........any idea why this might be the case? How can it be the goggles?
Did the soreness/irritability...vanish straight away?
Had a session with the acnelamp at 10am and jsut got back from shops.....now 5pm. Eyes were starting to bother me and sting a little, so popped in some eye drops and now better. I DID use the wet, cotton wool, this am.
So tomorrow morning, I'll try NO goggles and report back.

GOOD NEWS - THE GOGGLES ARE GUILTY AS CHARGED!!!
Tried a session without the goggles............absoulutely no problems. My eyelids/eyes have always been ultra sensitve. I got the same sensitivity, when I tried contact lenses.
So I'll get hold of another pair, hopefully with more space for my eyelids to breath!

Hello Ben
That’s good news.
My goggles had elastic connecting the eye pieces together and I always found them too tight despite numerous adjustments. After I started lying underneath my table I took the elastic off and just used the eye pieces loose - much more comfortable. I always keep my eyes shut during my sessions anyway and just try to relax. If you can do this it’s surprising how quickly the 15 minutes goes.
Thanks

Thanks Peter
I'm lying on my bedroom floor, with the three heads positioned over my face. I'm finding it incredibly relaxing, while listening to Classic FM.
I did 10 mins this morning and will increase to 15 mins and leave it at that. Rome was not built in a day!
First impressions (don't laugh) but I swear after my 10 min session this morning, my skin looks calmer and well.............different......and I feel kinda less stressed!
Received my new goggles this morning- very groovy!

8) ben, glad you found out the problem. I think, and this is just my opinion, that one of the reasons that RLT does work so good for some is because of the relaxation. Even just stopping our stress fiiled day for 10-15 minutes, lying down, as you do listning to music we enjoy, can also work wonders. I have not of yet tried RLT, but am so fascinated with the sucess others have had.
Hope you continue to see improvements!

Hey Ben
No worries.
Once you get a routine with using your lamp and feel comfortable then it becomes very easy and the time period can go very quickly. Only by using it daily and on a regular basis will you be able to judge how effective it is and then after a year or so you will probably be able to miss days without noticing any adverse effect. Yes just stick with the 15 minutes a day for now and review it again in a couple of months. That’s all I ever did and it worked for me.
Thanks
Peter

Hello Laura
Well any form of relaxation can only be a good thing but I wouldn’t say it was one of the reasons why RLT appears to help us.
I wrote a longish message to you once and said that based on your remarks that your rosacea seem to improve in the sun, then I felt it might be worth you giving it a go.
It’s up to you but nothing ventured then nothing gained.

I also believe the reason those using RLT feel their skin is calmer directly after using it has to do with the fact that they have been laying or sitting down, relaxing. Seems kind of obvious to me..

Oh dont get me wrong, I wasnt saying that the relaxation part is the main , factor, I just thinks it does play a bit of a part. We tend to be such stressed out people! Any break one can take to just sit and relax for a few minutes is a good thing! I do plan on RLT in the future, once I get myself back on my feet financially.

Hey Sweden
Seems kind of obvious to me that if this was the case then we would all be meditating ourselves into rosacea remission - if only it was that easy.
The effects of RLT are gradual and cumulative and that's why it takes a few months for the real improvement to be noticed. I thought you were going to try it?
Thanks

Hey Laura
Who is stressed Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr LOL
If the $$$$$ are a problem check out David's self-build delux model because it can be assembled much cheaper than buying one. You did say once on here that you were a bit of a dab hand at putting things together, so why not give it a go?

I am sure you speak from experience, perhaps you get the same results laying there without the RLT than you do with it? On the other hand, my husband finds that decompressing with RLTmakes a big difference. He is a big time meditator, he does it with his shakuhachi and in silence, and now with RLT. So I take his word on this pretty seriously. What's obvious to me is that we cannot disclaim the experience and opinion of another.

I have the scematics for building one saved here on my desk top, thanks to Iowa David. But right now even that cost is a bit too much, that pesky Com Ed and the phone company (both of whom have raised their rates  ) still want their $$$. LOL, live is never easy, is it. I am impressed by Jens set up, and now, Ivans. I doubt I could ever do something that complicated, but I will get myself up and running when the finances permit. Also It will be, I think an interesting project, (she says before attempting to deal with all the teeny tiny lights, lol)

Wow...I only meant that I believe why people feel calm DIRECTLY after it, is cause they have been relaxing, and also because they believe it is working. This doesn´t mean I dont think you get positive effects over time due to RLT, cause that I am convinced of. And yes I will certainly try it too. It is funny how when someone has an opinion that differs from that of others on this forum, you are instantly "corrected". It was the same way when I alone critized Nase and noone else spoke out against him many many months ago. Then I got banned, twice I believe. Now when everyone har realized those things about Nase, it´s okey to have the same kind of opinions I had about him. Kind of lame.

Apologies but thats not the way it come across in your earlier post and that's why we gave you our opinion because we disagreed. Now you have clarified what you really meant to say, then fair enough.

Are you kidding me? Can't agree with you on that one and I don't think many others will either.
If you do try RLT then let us know how it goes.
Take it easy.

If you are interested in avoiding people reacting your posts in a manner not intended, I would suggest you avoid comments such as those I have underlined from your last two posts. I do not believe anyone has taken issue with your opinions on the subject matter only on the put downs you include. It appears as if you like to make parting shots.

Okey it wasn't lame. It was cowardly. This isn't worht discussing though, since I have my opinion and you have yours, and I don't think we will convince each other? I shouldn't have said something was 'obvious' though, I know that was wrong.
