View Full Version : How viable an option is this?

Hi.
I have mild-moderate acne (teenager, its expected) as well as (potential) Rosacea, or at least facial redness caused by God knows what.

I've read about how Red Light is used to promote skin healing, and thus is used for Rosaceans, while Blue Light is used for killing the bacteria that creates acne.

So, would investing into a combination Blue/Red light kit (such as the ones sold by AcneLamp) be a viable option to treat mild/moderate acne and facial redeness/pre-Rosacea?

Thanks.

There are a whole slew of people here using red light and infrared light, with success - read up and you'll find all your answers.

If you're concerned about acne, a blue/red mix might be the best option. I'm a little wary about using blue light on rosacea skin, as it's UV. Red light does have an anti-inflammatory action that may help your acne out on its own, without blue light.

I've never used blue light, however--this is just speculation. Some people here have used the combo simply for rosacea, though I haven't paid close attention to their cases.

As Duke said--do some searching of the forums and you may find the answers you need. Otherwise, come back with more questions. ;)

Will do.
I'll do a bit of homework, and post back once I find an ideal setup.
Thanks.
