Hi there,
I couldn't find any mentino of this BioBeam Acne (though red light) lamp ( www.dermalogix.net/acne/ ) on the forum.

Has anyone heard of this unit and/or had experience of it? I'm presuming the handheld thing is a pain and small area covered also a drawback, but it's the only unit I've seen that offers free (or at all) international shipping (I'm in Australia). Apart from those problems is it otherwise suitable? Obvious next question would be, does anyone know of a reputable company that ships or is distributed in Australia?

IowaDavid kindly sent his genius specs for a diy unit to me last year but I was so overwhelmed with rosace and life in general at that stage I don't think I even said thanks (so belatedly, and apologetically, thanks)! Sadly my husband and father-in-law both said the build was beyong them so I am back on the search for a locally available unit.

I just added a space infront of and after the link you put up, so that folks here can easily click on it.

The before/after photo is startling, to say the least! I also think their time frame for healing is over enthusiastic. Having to hold a small light source to your face will be quite annoying and you may find you don't do it every day because of that.

I always thought blue light was better for Acne or a combo of blue/red light. Interesting that they say red light will do the trick. I haven't found that so much with my p&p's and am considering blue light as well. Maybe even yellow and maybe even near infra-red. For now, I'll stick with what I've got as it does help to create an overall calmness on my face.

Can I ask what you want it most for? That is, which part of Rosacea are you wanting to treat. I know we chatted via e-mail last year but I forget, sorry.

I would also like to know if there is an Australian company who distributes light units. Agghhh....hang on...I remember at Christmas, a friend of a friend said he knew someone. Must contact him and ask for details. Will let you know when I find out.
