Hi guys

I need advice on this. what is this red lamp all about. Read some posts, but to be honest haven`t got time to scroll down too far.

Does it help stinging and burning? I don`t have acne, but broken veins and red cheeks in the winter when I get into the heat. I use metrogel, and rosacea care products. I drink loads of water. At the moment I have got slighty gritty eyes, but they are not red

Could this lamp help..where would I purchase it...which is the best etc.

Many thanks for your help.

Jules xx

many people have found benefits for rosacea and gritty eyes. There is a lot of info in this forum. I'm afraid that I don't have time to regurgitate all the posts.

Yup. Jutz, folks take the time to post their information, experiences and stories to be helpful, but we can't be doing others work for them. You have to take the time to become educated so you can make your own informed decision.

Hi Jules

Yes, it does take some time to read the material available. Maybe have a look at this thread, where folks who are using light therapy have given their feedback:

Also, this one gives you a good number of web sites to look at, which sell commercial units.

In a nutshell, low level light therapy is fairly 'new' in the scope of things. For me, it creates a calmness on my face. I also believe it reduces the flushing/stinging/burning. My eyes are much better since using my red LED array. You can check that out here:

I don't think anyone can say which unit is the best one to use. It really is a matter for you to personally decide.

If you can't spend much time on the Internet, perhaps you could go to an Internet cafe or a friend's house and take your time to do some reading and research.

Unfortunately, with Rosacea, we are left to do the leg work ourselves. This is why places like this Forum are invaluable. You might also like to check out the RSRP:

It's an attachment to the Yahoo Rosacea Support Group and has some fantastic info about Rosacea there too.

Best of luck.

Opps! Just re-read your last post, Jules. Ummm...well...I guess it's a matter of 'no pain, no gain'. I don't really know how else to say this. I'm sorry that sitting infront of a computer arks up your Rosacea but the Net is the best source of info. So, it just has to be done if you want to learn what others are having success with.

Again, best of luck.

oops again, i forgot to log in and didnt realise i had signed in as "guest", i am very interested in red light therapy, but unfortunatly am unable to spend massive amounts of time on the internet as my face begins to burn and flush. So its got nothing to do (as T Purple seems to suggest) with some people not wanting to do the work, plus like most people i have to work for a living and coping with rosacea as well is not a pleasant experiance which can leave you physically and mentally drained, stressed and depressed. But thanks jen for condensing the posts, it was very much appreciated and very kind to take the time to do so.

You're welcome SpuggyLegs but please remember that TP has done an enormous amount of research on light therapy and has put up some fabulous threads/posts for all to read.

Hey, we all have to work for a living and I know that TP works like a dog, yet still finds the time to post here. Credit where credit is due.

I also understand the stress and anguish in dealing with Rosacea. It's not easy but we all eventually find a way to cope and a way to control the big R beast.

Sorry I got you mixed up with Jules, when you posted as a Guest. I didn't check it out before I replied. It does get a tad confusing with guest posts.
