Hey everyone,
Can RLT be used with low dose accutane? I can handle sunlight, although I can't lay out in the sun for hours in the summer. Would RLT work, or would the combination of accutane and RLT be bad?

Hi Sweden,

I don't know much about accutane, but I am a person who is photosensitive and Doxycycline made me more so.

I began LED therapy while on Doxyxcline and what I discovered was my photosensitivity appears relegated to the low end of the visible spectrum -- the UV range (400nm and lower). Red light therapy operates at the other end of the visible light spectrum (600nm and higher) and I had no problem with it at all. In fact it helped my skin become less 'reactive' to the sun. Previous to using LED therapy, just a brief exposure to sunlight would feel like a scald. Now I do not have those sensations, all I feel is the suns warmth. Which is very nice!

I hope this helps.
