We are in a holiday mood here on the board, so lets run with it. What are your favorite songs, traditions that you follow, things you do during this season that make your soul happy. We are from many places and many different beliefs, I would love to hear how you all celebrate, or don't, this time of year. Me, Im Pagan, I celebrate the Winter Solstice, its a time to celebrate the Sun and its return to the days getting longer. I do all the traditional Christmas decorating though, my home looks like mad elfs ran through it with lots of lights and tinsel and, of course, I have mistletoe hanging over my door.

Oh, forgot to mention I also make a killer eggnog. It is quite possibly the most unhealthy thing on the planet, eggs, heavy cream and lots of rum and brandy. I can only drink one small glass of it, but everyone loves it, I didn't make it last year and I got YELLED at for it!

Nat King Cole with some Brandy Beans Chocolates in front of a big fire = Christmas. :D

This year we have declared a moratorium on turkey, so we are putting our thinking caps on to create a new 'tradition'!

Ok, this is a 'Bear' tradition, but not a nice one. Every year without fail, my dad and I ALWAYS get a mouth ulcer! :?

I kid you not. I thought I had gotten away with it this year, but two nights ago I slipped with the tooth brush and knocked my gum. Now I have a monster ulcer in the blend.

sorry to hear about the mouth ulcer, BB :( Hope it gets better real soon. What about using mouth wash to speed things along?

Re: Xmas...I'm a traditionalist. LOVE all the hoopla and carols. Have to see at least 2 holiday concerts, preferably with choirs and bells. Really like the lighted tree, outdoor colored lights (...so cheery!) and all the food goodies. Although pay the price for my food indescretions...like right now a little bit...oh well...tis' the season for a bit of red.

Bob,
Ouch, I hate it when I do that! I tend to be a klutz and I always feel I have somehow failed as a grownup in the fact that I cant even brush my teeth without injuring myself! :) I put a green tea bag on the sore and within a few days it usually will get rid of it. 15 min. about 3 or 4 times a day. Doesnt taste the best, unless you like lawn clippings, but for me it works.

Bob,
hope you get well soon \:D/ and that you can eat all the Christmas goodies and that don't actually look like that: :-#!

Actually, I just feel a strong longing for a cup of tea and some goodies from the cookie-plate. I will suggest this to my husband and I'm sure he will not disagree with me.

So, byebye everyone and have a wonderful Christmas!

Brandy? Ah! Makes me think of one time a few years ago I had a margarita and just went crimson--tequila seems to do that histamine reaction on me. Better now, of course. Still can't say I like the nog. :-& I'm sure what you make is quite good, tho. ;)
