Great post seriously. Finally, some real celebs with real rosacea. It's a great comfort, if nothing else, to know that people with significant rosacea are not letting it stop their lives.

Still, it has to be a severe disadvantage in sports to have a burning red face. When I exercise, I look just like some of those guys. I HAVE HUGE RESPECT FOR ALL OF THEM.

this may be a dumb question but has anyone ever tried contacting Harry or family about donating to or helping to fund Rosacea research? Others have told me they are very giving people and it would seem like since they suffer from it as well they would want to help. Maybe easier said than done? Just a thought though.

Here's a reallyl dumb question....

When someone has a ruddy complexion like the pics above, is it always rosacea? Is there such a thing as having a ruddy complexion like this, without it being rosacea or related disorder? Just wondering if through the eons when someone's complexion was discribed this way, if really what was happening is that the person had rosacea.

I asked that same question to a ton of people here, and no one seems to be able to offer any sort of difference. If you Google "ruddy complexion" all you'll find is a thousand hits for Rosacea. But, tons of non-Rosacea sufferers have been described as having such a complexion, so much so that it's actually a designated type of complexion.

My Rosacea looks just like the picture in the first link and on good days and most days lately my Rosacea looks alot like the pictures in the second link.

canarygirl - i have the erythma-whatsit type of rosacea without the p&p and all i can say is it gets way worse (more red, more swollen, more all-over, not just the cheeks and nose) than these photos.

re photo one of nick lachey - the giveaway imo is his neck - which is just the same tanned brown with bit of red as the face - I think he's just caught the sun one day and it's a photo taken at night which exaggerates it.

a distinguishing feature of my rosacea (and I believe others) is that the colour of my face bears no resemblance to the colour of my neck or any other part of me. all-over red-to-beetroot (varies a bit day to day) red face on pale body - looks ridiculous of course. that nick in photo 1 - just looks pretty handsome and healthy to me!

Some clear pics of him with a facial flush. Must be very hard at times to perform on stage and go with all the hussle and busle while having rosacea...He probably can't avoid too many triggers. Can't imagine him beeing able to have a rosacea-friendly diet for instance, while on the road, LOL.

Dont sportsman have ruddy faces because they spend a lot of time outside. Surely all that wind, sun etc gives them lots of broken veins on their faces, isnt that why their faces are red. The back of my mums hands are permanantly red as she used to work in a laundry and would be continuously putting her hands in hot water, so she has a mass of broken veins. Also like most people I dont understand the difference between rosacea and someone who has a "ruddy complexion".

Isnt a ruddy complexion something you were born with, just like someone may have sallow skin etc. I thought rosacea was something that you developed. questions, questions, will we ever get any answers :D

I see young teenagers working at the grocery store every week with the same ruddiness and they always look the same week after week,,.. My cousin has the same complexion as prince Harry,, Same red ruddyness .. Never had a burning sensation,,no viens,no swollen nose and no pimples.. So no I don't think it's the same as Rosacea.. He is in his early 50's and his face hasn't changed one bit and has had this complexion from day one...

I am sure there are a lot of female celebs out there with Rosacea and with the amount of money they have could do a lot more in one day then we can in a year.. Laser treatments every week if they wanted and professionaly done make up..

Kind of ironic that she married Chris Evans... the biggest piss head of them all!

I agree though, most female celebs will cover any problems with makeup. You wouldnt know whether they had rosacea or not.

I have a huuuuuge crush on Ricky from the Kaiser Chiefs, I was like a teenybopper when I went to see them last year.

There is an interview with the actress Lisa Falkener in this weeks Now magazine talking about her Rosacea, which you’d never know she has as her skin always looks stunning. She states that she always feels she has to wear make-up to cover her red cheeks and also likes the Dr Brandt laser in a bottle stuff.

ahhhhhhhh found some pics of Rosie,,never even knew till I went to her Blog and found these..Makes me feel a hell of lot better to know that she can post these pics and be in the media's eyes and live with it..She doesn't look like she has had any laser treatments,except to wear makeup,,so guys and girls if she could feel confident,hell we can too!! but it's obvious in these pictures that some are old ...

the one with the blond that she works with on the view is recent... and her face looks clear.

the others are a variety of stages of outbreaks that couldn't happen in like all in one week... could be years old, eh!?

well.. it's not clear when the photos were taken... at least i don't know. looks over a course of time in different eras.

ask rosie!!! she answers nearly all questions on her website.

otherwise... if it's recent pics...maybe she was in regression and thought she was cured.

i thought i was cured last year... :roll: and i didn't do anything... just remained in my normal routine.

but i know there's a cure out there... or at least to keep it away from avoiding certain things.
i'm still trying to figure me out.

I've never heard about neem before I'll have to check into that one.. Oh yea. On the front page of her blog and on the right hand side if you scroll down you'll see the word Rosacea,,click on it and it explains the Ayurvedic regime which is where she said she took the neem pills.

Pictures are there now on the front page of her site on the right hand side,,click on picutre and it will bring you to her picture site,,Flickr if they happen not to be there then go to flickr and search for her pics,I think you might have to join to view them..

The picture of her and Elisabeth is new from the view and you can see clearly that she still has rosacea on her nose,,Makeup can hide lots of imperfections so she still may have it on her face,but the makeup is doing a good job of hiding it on her cheeks..If she was in remission then she's not anymore..Since she is on her cruise right now she may have a tan so any pics she does post when she gets back won't show her rosacea.



As for the picture with her and her kids I'm sure is recent.. Her son Parker who isn't in the pic is 11 1/2,,Chelesea is 9,Blake is 7 and Vivienne is 4 so they look about that age in the pic. Yes a lot of pics are old,but I do believe this one is fairly recent..

Anyway if by chance you go to her blog again and the pics aren't there then take a look at Flickr (not sure if you have to join to view the pics,)she changes her pics after awhile too..I remember seeing one on that isn't there now where she put as a heading "ros"gay"cea"and it was a pic of her face and she was pointing to her nose..which was really red..
