22 yr male

I went on accutane Oct 03' (40 mg I believe). Came off of it around March 04'. Then went back on it September 04' - Dec' (20 mg I believe). Went back on around Feb 05 - July 05 (60 mg; 20mg one day, 40mg the next).

Around the time of Feb 05 my doc was saying my face kept looking really red. Truth was I was out in the sun quite a bit, around 2-4 times a week for 1-2 hours at a time. Although i wasn't always in the sun as most of the time was spent in the water; as you will see in the pictures.

Doc prescribed Dermatop emollient cream 0.1%. I began applying that daily as it helped with "itchy bumps" i was starting to get. I used the cream from around Feb 05 - April 06. I began applying it just on spots in the beginning, then maybe around half a dozen times I applied it to my entire face. Application was not done everyday, only when needed. But I was not applyin g it to reduce the redness because I was not consciously aware of it. Bright lights in the bathroom always bothered my eyes, so I never turned on the intense lights in there. The dull lights never showed the redness, thus I never knew I had it.

June 2006 my doc said I have rosacea. I agree I have redness, but it certaintly was not genetic; as you will see from a picture I post that has my father.

Long story short, what are my options for what I have? I have tried MetroGel, but that did nothing, plus it dried out my skin and started making it flaky a bit.

BTW, I have 3 sisters, none have this problem, parents do not have this problem, and neither do any known ancestors/relatives.

haha.. :)

OK. When I get home I will post some up-close pictures. But from the above pictures, you can notice that the skin color of my face is of a different hue than my arms, or even of my surrounding neck area.

I think most peoples skin would be different colours if you dunked them in cold water and dragged thema long at high speed
