This is my theory, please let me know your input on this. Since vbeam and IPL is designed to destroy weak and faulty blood cells, it would make sense that accompanying this with red light therapy for the days after would be benficial.
I would think the red light would put the skin in a more ideal situation to heal correctly after IPL and Vbeam has done the necessary damage.
We know flushing and caushign anytype of inflammation for the days after these lasers is coutner productive. The Red light's anti inflammatory characteristics can only help.
Red light also has the great capability of speding healing time. This will also make for a healthy recovery from lasers. Decreasing down time also means less chance of ruining results by flushing and such.
What do you guys think?

Have you used red light and thermal laser therapy in conjunction? If so--what has your experience been?

No but I am going to give it a shot on my appointment on the 25th. Have been using the red light for a few weeks now with good results. Will go hardcore under the red light for the following days past my V Beam.

What red light system are you using?
What are your post-V-beam treatments reactions like (swelling, redness, welts, etc.)?

I'm using the same one GJ uses. The handheld from Elixa. I recently purchased a blue and red acnelamp because I do have some acne problems as well.
Unfortunately my doc hasn't amped up the settings on the vbeam yet (only tried it once) The first time I was beet red right after but after an hour my face was regular again. My chronic redness has proved to be the toughest challenge.
I hope to see minor swelling and bruising after this trip, though. Figuring out the right thing to say to my doc.
I'll keep everyone updated on how it works out.

Over time, the red light should reduce your standing redness. And it's great to use in conjunction with laser treatments. Keep us posted. :)

Fut, might it be that your persistent redness is not a sign of permanently damaged vessels (as many assume) but rather, evidence of a persisent, low-grade flush?
If this is so, you have good reasons to be cheerful, since any successful assault on the inflammation should help the redness.

How did you make out post V-Beam?
You've used both the Elixa and the AcneLamp. Do you have a preference or are they different enough. Wavelength, etc...?

If Red Light is effective for wound healing, wouldn't it make blood vessels grow back faster after IPL, which is to be avoided?

Please see my past posts on this matter. I just posted about this tonight. There must be a cut-off point, or a range of energy that slides into pro-angiogenesis, rather than anti-inflammatory action.
PM me if you'd like to discuss this in more detail.
