Well, I was just diagnosed a few weeks back, with mild Rosacea after years of suspecting I had it. I can still remember sitting in high school one day when I was sixteen and all of a sudden feeling this horrible burning sensation like my face was on fire. When I left the class my friends all asked me why my face was all red and swollen. If they only knew...
Now, 11 years later, the problem is still here and finally a determatolist recognized it and put me on metrogel 1%.
I've learned several ways to cope with the flushing over the years, and am much happier now than I was in my teens.
When I start to get a flush, I simply take a deep breath in and say to myself
"Ok, its happening, but it will pass". And it always does. The more you think about it, you make yourself nuts and the flushing is worse.
Not sure about the Metrogel yet, does appear to be helping a tiny bit, but
we shall see...
Anyway, great forum and I look forward to being an active member.
