I don't think this is the correct area to post the question in but I not sure where is a better one :)
What is the red light therapy and what does it do for rosaceans? Which lamp and where would I purchase one from?
Thanks!

Do some searching on the archives here...I've made plenty of posts that will bore you. ;)
PM me if you're interested in a DIY set-up. I can email you instructions. :)

Thanks a lot David! I'll look into that too. My priority right now is to find a good doc for IPL...

I've found red light therapy to be a great adjunct to IPL/laser therapy. If you're looking to speed up recovery time after a thermal in-office laser treatment, red light therapy is quite useful.
Good luck on finding a doctor that's good at what s/he does. That's the difficult part. :smirk:

Tell me about it! I wish there were more interest in treating rosaceans by these laser clinics where I am. Right now, I am considering the three big names for IPL in the US. Well, two really big, out West, and another one not as well known, in NYC. I really don't want to fly across the country b/c flying is not good for my flushing to begin with, especially right after the Tx, I imagine.
BTW, I have the same type of rosacea as you do - erythematotelangiectactic (what a mouthful) but with some papules and pustules.
Thanks for the info!

Hi Tanya
In a nut shell, red light therapy is considered to have an anti-inflammatory effect on the skin. To date there have been no clinical trials run but I believe there will be one done at the Hammersmith Hospital. Hopefully soon! For now, we have anecdotal reports from fellow Rosaceans trying it.
I've only been using it for about a month now and I like it. There have been a few nights where I have not done it, for one reason or another, and I can feel the difference when I don't do it.
There has been quite a lot posted on this in the Forum if you run a quick search.
Good luck!
Jen
